Saint Christopher's Chapel in Prague–Záběhlice
project: 2019 - 2020
realization: 2024 - 2025
client: Archdiocesan Caritas Prague
We designed the chapel in Prague's Záběhlice as a simple structure made of exposed concrete, the volume of which responds to the surrounding terrain and greenery and opens towards the garden. Light enters the interior through slot windows and a roof skylight, which accentuates the altar space. The vertical element is a subtle bell tower with a cross. The interior uses a moderation of materials - concrete, glass and wood. The surrounding garden with a symbolic "riverbed" refers to the legend of Saint Christopher and connects the chapel with the adjacent guesthouse.
